AI Adoption is a grass roots movement
AI is the buzzword and these days it is not possible to find a single organzation that is not thinking about or already driving AI adoption in their organizations. While broader AI enterprise systems will get deployed, there is a ground up movement driven by individuals that is driving AI adoption. This is driving significant improvements in productivity in key areas like content creation, marketing, communication and research.

For a big part, most enterprises are not even aware of the productivity gains and the innovation/learning is very siloed. The bigger challenge for enterprises is that the knowledge is not in a central place and as employees churn or move to other roles, this gain in productivity will be reversed.
Current Stage of Ground Up AI Usage
In an effort to shed light on the prevailing landscape of AI usage within enterprises, we conducted a comprehensive survey spanning 135 individuals across 78 companies. Here were the key findings:
- Frequency of AI Tool Usage: A staggering 67% of respondents reported using AI tools at least once a week, underscoring the ubiquity of AI in day-to-day operations.
- Managerial Awareness Gap: Alarmingly, 42% of respondents revealed that their managers lack awareness of how AI tools are utilized at an individual level, highlighting a glaring blind spot in organizational oversight.
- Knowledge Sharing Deficiency: Shockingly, a mere 14% of managers have implemented processes to facilitate knowledge sharing regarding the usage of AI tools among team members, exacerbating the siloed nature of AI adoption within enterprises.
Path ahead
As we can see, AI usage is a still a very individual activity with managers and enterprises not aware of usage. There are significant challenges in sharing and transferring knowledge across teams and projects. In addition to this there are regulatory risks, compliance issues that may also arise.
Enterprises must think of deploying a centralized prompt management system to mitigate these risks and make the gains permanent and further increase the gains. Even after enterprise IT systems are launched, there will be a need to have centralized AI knowledge repository.
